The Food & Wine Festival - Palm Desert™ benefits the premiere culinary school in the United States, the Culinary Institute of America’s Endowed Scholarship Fund. The Culinary Institute of America is the recognized leader in culinary education for undergraduate students, food service and hospitality professional, and food enthusiasts. The college awards bachelor’s and associate degrees, as well as certificates and continuing education units and is accredited by the prestigious Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Institute was founded in 1946 in downtown New Haven, CT to provide culinary training for World War II veterans, the college moved to its present location in Hyde Park, NY in 1972 (seen left).
In 1995, the CIA added a branch campus in the heart of California’s Napa Valley - The CIA at Greystone (seen left). The college continued to grow, adding the CIA, San Antonio branch campus in Texas.
The college today enrolls approximately 2,700 students in its degree programs, 3,000 in its programs for professional, and 3,500 in its courses for food enthusiasts.

Les Dames d’Escoffier
Les Dames d’Escoffier is the only organization of its kind: a world wide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The invitation-only membership, composed of 28 individual chapters across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, is highly diversified and reflects the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.
