Pastry Chef/Culinary Personality/Restaurateur/Cookbook Author

Pastry chef Zac Young is known for his playful takes on American desserts, including the all-in-one Thanksgiving sensation, The PieCaken. His direct-to-consumer bakery, PieCaken Bakeshop, delivers specialty desserts in tandem with the online marketplace Goldbelly. Zac, an honors grad of the Institute of Culinary Education, cut his teeth at Bouchon Bakery and learned from some of the world’s chocolate masters in France. His four-year tenure as pastry chef under Chef Alex Guarnaschelli at Butter Restaurant preceded his donut revolution at Flex Mussels Restaurants. Zac then served as a corporate pastry chef, running the pastry departments of Chef David Burke’s restaurants, hotels, and bars and became a partner in the parent company, Craveable Hospitality Group. His most recent venture, Zac Young’s Sprinkletown, is a multifaceted sweets company focused on retail products.
